2 Things to Digest

To eat healthy we should stop thinking about what to exclude, and focus on what to include in our diet. Food is not an enemy, like some smartass marketers want us to think. Food is our friend, our fuel, our life!

Just focus on eating more of the good stuff:

1️⃣ Vegetables

All veggies are good. Eat the ones you like, but include others - diversity is key. Try to eat veggies you don't normally eat at least once a week (increase the number of times per week as you get comfor

table with this idea)

2️⃣ Lean proteins

Fish & seafood, poultry, not fatty (lean) cuts of red meat, plants with a lot of protein like soy, lentils, chickpeas, whole grains.

3️⃣ Fiber

Dietary fiber comes from vegetables and fruits, bran and whole grains (those that include bran), legumes, nuts & seeds

4️⃣ Unsaturated fats (in moderation)

Heard of healthy fats? These are the ones. Represented mostly by fish & seafood and plants sourced fats like avocado, olives and olive oil, nuts & seeds and oils from them (with exception of coconut and palm oil - these 2 are mostly saturated fats, not very healthy, altough also needed in the body)

5️⃣ Complex carbohydrates (in moderation)

These are mostly whole grains and legumes. Unrefined rice (brown, red), quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, lentils, chickpeas, various beans, etc.

uit and berries (in moderation)

Fruits are super great, have a lot of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and phytochemicals, but usually have a lot of sugar too, so need to be consumed in reasonable amounts. Most berries have less sugar and more fiber, while also being full of microelements, so it's cool to eat berries more often.


Don't fight with it, don't hate it, don't reject it or neglect its needs. It's your only true home, it does so much for you - it carries you around and takes you places, it follows your wildest impulses, while doing the best it can to keep you safe and alive. Be grateful, love it sincerely, take care of it, listen to it, do things it needs, not only things you like, and it will be your best friend ever!
